Ashburn Woman Strikes it Big with $5 Million Lottery Win

A lucky Ashburn resident is celebrating a life-changing windfall after hitting the jackpot on a scratch-off ticket.

Jennifer Ivey purchased the winning ticket at a 7-Eleven on Pleasant Valley Road in Chantilly. The game, “100X the Money,” turned out to be a golden pick—unveiling the top prize of $5,000,000 when she scratched it at home.

“It feels amazing. It really does,” Ivey shared in a Virginia Lottery press release. “I just kind of stared at it because I couldn’t believe it.”

Rather than opting for the full payout over 30 years, Ivey took the lump sum of $3,125,000 before taxes.

The 7-Eleven that sold the lucky ticket won too—it will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery.

With two of the three grand prizes already claimed, just one more $5 million ticket remains in circulation. The odds of landing it? A staggering 1 in 2,652,000.
