What started as a simple online lottery purchase turned into a life-changing surprise for one Williamson County resident.
Holly, a retired teacher from Johnston City, says she meant to play the $2 Booming Bucks game but accidentally selected the $20 FastPlay Magnificent Multiplier scratch-off game instead. The mix-up happened while she was watching a movie and not fully paying attention.
Despite initially regretting the extra spend, her hesitation turned to disbelief.
“I was at my home office desk when I saw the screen and thought my computer had frozen or something,” Holly recalled.
She broke the news to her husband, who thought she was joking or sending him a meme. But the win was real — and it came with a $250,000 prize.
With her unexpected windfall, Holly plans to build a new home for her family and invest in a baby grand piano to fuel her lifelong love of music.
