A Dubuque local has landed a major victory, claiming a $20,000 prize from the Iowa Lottery.

Jim Hanson, a resident of Dubuque, secured the first top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s Power 10X scratch game. Hanson collected his winnings at the lottery’s Cedar Rapids office earlier today, as announced in a press release.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Eagle Country Market located at 1800 Elm St. in Dubuque.

The Power 10X scratch game, launched this month in Iowa, is priced at $2 per ticket and features a total of eight $20,000 prizes. According to the Iowa Lottery, the game offers overall odds of 1 in 3.73.

Hanson’s win marks an exciting start to this newly introduced game.
