Are you ready to benefit from new UK National Lottery rules?

The rules for the UK National Lottery are changing in November, providing the players more chances of scooping a cash prize.

Most significantly, the National Lottery has announced to introduce a £20million must-be-won draw. The first such draw will be held on November 7, when the new rules come into effect.

As per the new rules, people will have bigger prizes handed out in case of a Rolldown. A Rolldown occurs when a jackpot has rolled over repeatedly, so many times that the prize must be won anyhow.

As per the new rules, anyone who matches just two numbers during a Rolldown draw will receive £5 and a Lucky Dip to play again for free.

Anyone matching numbers should see their prize get bigger.

Those using the app to play will need to upgrade it on November 5 to continue to play and check results.

New UK National Lottery Rules Explained

In a Lotto Must Be Won Draw, if no one matches all six main numbers then:

  • The jackpot will be used to pay all Match 2 prize winners in that draw – giving them a £5 cash prize besides their usual Lotto Lucky Dip.
  • The remaining jackpot will be shared across all other cash prize tiers, as per the Lotto Game Procedures.
  • This means all prize tiers from Match 2 to Match 5 and the Bonus Ball could expect to get a boost to their amounts.

A Camelot spokesman said that as lottery operators their job is to grow sales in a socially-responsible way so that the games deliver as much money as possible for good causes.

For this, he said, they regularly review their products to ensure that they’re offering a balanced and lucrative range of games that offer something to everyone.

The spokesman said The Lotto Rolldown feature has become popular among their players since its introduction in November 2018 and millions of players have benefitted from boosted prizes in those Rolldowns. Camelot is always looking at ways and means to make their games even better. One thing that Match 2 winners keep telling them is that they want a share of the jackpot too, he added.

So, from November 7, when the National Lottery launches a Rolldown, everyone could scoop a share, he said.

The free Lucky Dip and £5 win for Match 2 winners means that around 1.1 million players matching two main numbers in a Lotto Rolldown would also experience the excitement of a boosted prize as well as the share of the jackpot, he concluded.
