$1M Lotto Winner: She’ll pay her mortgage, travel and share with her children

Sandra Pilgrim Stark, a Kanata resident, won $1 million in October’s Lotto 6/49 Draw.

OLG released a statement saying that Pilgrim-Stark was a retired nurse who plays the lottery regularly. Not surprisingly, it was a moment of great emotion when she discovered her win.

Pilgrim-Stark said

“I was about to replay my ticket when I heard the winning jingle go off. I asked the clerk how much and she whispered, ‘A lot of money,’

I was shocked to learn that I had won $1 million. I stood there in disbelief, with tears in my eyes.”

Pilgrim Stark shared her plans for spending some of her wealth. She will pay off her mortgage, invest in her future and share some of her money with her kids. She has plans to travel.

She said,

“I have a few destinations on my bucket list, so I’ll set some aside.”

The winning ticket was purchased by the woman at Real Canadian Superstore, Eagleson Road in Kanata.

Pilgrim Stark stated

“I feel like I’m floating on Cloud 9.  It’s been a journey filled with disbelief, joy, and despair.”
