$250 Lottery win results in $1M New Years Eve Jackpot for N.C. man

North Carolina man claims that a $250 lottery prize helped him win $1 million with only hours remaining in 2021.

Joseph Rose of Morehead City said that he won $250 with a scratch-off ticket on New Year’s Eve. He also told North Carolina Education Lottery officials that he bought a $20 Winter Winnings ticket at Handy Mart in Morehead City.

Rose claimed that he had scratched the ticket in the garage, but returned to the store to scan it. He revealed a $1,000,000 top prize.

He said,

It blew my mind away. I can’t quit smiling. It will take a lot of effort to beat this one.

Rose stated that Rose’s win was a guarantee that “2021 will go out with a bang.”

He stated that he will use his winnings for home improvements and retirement savings.

He said,

It was a blessing. Somebody was going win it. It was me. It will make my life easier.
