A group of Kingsville friends wins $100,000 playing Encore

A group of Kingsville friends has been playing the lottery for years. It finally paid off — for them, at $100,000.

Encore was approved by the group. It turned one dollar into $100,000, matching the last six numbers in exact order on Nov. 5 Lotto Max draw.

Since 2016, Jennifer Forster, Kelly McCracken, and Wendy Bateman of Kingsville have played the lottery together. Bateman joined three years ago.

Forster laughed, recalling the moment she realized that they were winners. She said that it took her a while to get the girls to share the news.

When I finally managed to get hold of them, they were stunned!

McCracken stated that she had a dream days before her big win, which was to have made money.

She laughed and said,

Now the girls keep asking if I have had another dream yet.

McCracken will finish home renovations and go on vacation when it is safe. Forster will save her portion for retirement. Bateman will use her share to pay down a house.

The winning ticket was purchased at King’s Convenience, Main Street in Kingsville.
