After winning the Girrawheen ticket, a Perth truck driver wins $2 million

After winning $2 million in Saturday Lotto, a truck driver who has been behind the wheel for four decades made his last delivery. He gave his notice to his employer and handed in his notice of two weeks.

This man in his 60s has increased his retirement savings by purchasing a division one ticket for August 7, which he purchased from Newpark Lottery Centres and News Girrawheen.

“They told me that I had won $2 million and I thought it was great, but then I broke down five seconds later,” said the happy truck driver.

“I’ve given my notice.”

Although the driver knew that a division 1 ticket was available at the outlet in the northern suburbs, he didn’t rush to get his entry checked.

The prize was not verified for more than two weeks, and the lucky winner admitted that he had been looking at the banner in the store for the past week.

Sam Clark, the spokesperson for Lotterywest, stated that their son was present in the winner’s chamber with the couple. He was happy to see his father celebrate this life-changing win after having worked so hard over 40 years.

“This year, we celebrated 49 Division One winners across our State. We would love to see that number grow.”
