Borehamwood woman wins PS35,000 Veterans Lottery prize

Borehamwood resident won a PS35,000 Jackpot in the Veterans Foundation Lottery.

Barbara Hunt said she is “ecstatic” after winning the 5,000 monthly first prize and the more lucrative PS30,000 Rollover Jackpot.

Barbara started playing the Veterans lottery because she was inspired by a conversation that she had while in the hospital during the birth of her son.

She stated that she was there with a young girl who was severely burned by Sir Galahad (ship), during the Falklands War many years ago.

“Since then, I have always wanted to help in any way I could. I don’t believe people fully understand the needs of veterans.”

Barbara is motivated to play this lottery because it directly benefits ex-servicemen, women, and children all across the UK. Her father flew Lancaster bombers during WWII, while her grandfathers fought for their country.

The 71-year old said that she was ecstatic to have won the Veterans’ Lottery after her October win.

“Quite honestly, it was a scam at the time.” Quite honestly, I thought it was a fraud at the time. I then went to the website and discovered that it was true. I had actually won PS35,000.

“The emotions I felt upon learning the news was shock, disbelief, and euphoria. “I was very, very happy.”
