One million dollars for a Richmond woman in lottery

One Richmond woman who won $1 million in the lottery spent her entire day verifying her winning ticket to ensure her big win.

Eiko Yamase loves to watch Netflix and YouTube when she has free time. But, Eiko was shocked to see her screen lit up by $1 million Maxmillions prize from the June 18 Lotto Max draw.

Yamase said, “I didn’t know what I should do. I was shocked at first…for the entire day, I made sure that my ticket matched the number.”

Yamase finally called BCLC to confirm that she had seen the winning numbers, but she wasn’t in a movie.

She called her husband next to share the life-changing news.

He couldn’t believe what he saw. He was thrilled and congratulated my efforts.

Yamase will use her prize to travel to Canada’s Maritime Provinces and to support her children’s education.

She said, “It’s been my dream ever since I came to Canada to visit the east, I would love to travel to Toronto or Halifax, and even PEI.”
