Lucky Thanksgiving: Fall River Resident Snags $1 Million in Scratch Ticket Win

A Fall River man had more than turkey to celebrate this Thanksgiving after hitting a $1 million jackpot playing the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “200X” instant ticket game.

The winner, Fabio Alexandre, bought his golden ticket at Shop N Save on Robeson Street in Fall River. The retailer is also cashing in, earning a $10,000 bonus from the state lottery for selling the winning ticket.

Alexandre chose the one-time lump sum payout of $650,000 before taxes. He says part of his newfound fortune will go toward purchasing a new home — a dream now within reach thanks to a perfectly timed holiday win.
