NC Man Stunned by $100K Lottery Win: “Had to Check Twice”

A North Carolina man was left in disbelief after a lucky scratch-off ticket turned into a $100,000 windfall. “I had to adjust my glasses,” said Scott Gullickson, recalling his first reaction. “I kept asking myself, ‘Am I seeing this right?’”

Gullickson purchased the winning ticket at Quick Snack in Greensboro. He chose the $10 Million Spectacular game and never imagined it would pay off so handsomely. After taxes, his prize came to $71,764.

The Summerfield resident, located about 10 miles from downtown Greensboro, plans to use the winnings to pay bills and save for the future. Gullickson said he had long believed a big win was in his future.

This isn’t an unusual reaction among North Carolina lottery winners. Earlier this year, another player reportedly double-checked a winning ticket several times before accepting the news.
