A North Vancouver resident is preparing for the trip of a lifetime after discovering he won $1 million in the Nov. 22 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Jarnal Billan first believed he had scored only $1,000 when he checked the results on his phone. A closer look revealed the real prize — a life-changing $1-million windfall, according to BCLC.
Billan said the unexpected win brings a welcome sense of security, calling it “nice to have a cushion.”
When he shared the news at home, his wife was overwhelmed with excitement. “She was ecstatic — we both couldn’t believe it,” he recalled.
The couple now plans to celebrate with a European getaway, though the exact destination remains undecided.
The lucky ticket was bought at the Chevron on Grandview Highway and Boundary Road in Vancouver, BCLC confirmed.
Lotto 6/49, drawn every Wednesday and Saturday after 7:30 p.m. PST, continues to reward players across the province. So far this year, more than $67 million in prizes have been claimed in B.C.
