Springfield Trust Scoops $4 Million Jackpot From Northborough Scratch Ticket

A trust based in Springfield has claimed a $4 million top prize from a Massachusetts Lottery scratch ticket sold in Northborough.

The winning entry came from the “$4,000,000 Extreme Cash” instant ticket game. The prize was collected by the Backseat Mayor Nominee Trust, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.

The trust was represented by trustee Hyman Darling. Instead of receiving the full prize through annual payments, the winner selected a one-time cash option worth $2.6 million before taxes.

Lottery officials confirmed that the lucky ticket was purchased at Honey Farms, located at 369 West Main Street in Northborough.

The store will also benefit from the major win. For selling the jackpot ticket, Honey Farms is set to receive a $10,000 retailer bonus from the Massachusetts State Lottery.
