Wayne County Man’s Routine Leads to $1 Million Lottery Win

A 50-year-old man from Wayne County struck it big with a $1 million prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket purchased during his daily stop in Plymouth.

The man followed his usual routine, stopping at the Way Station at 950 S. Main St. to pick up a Wild Cherry instant ticket. After returning home, he scratched the $10 ticket and was stunned to see he had won $1 million.

“I enjoy playing different lottery games and always make a point to buy a scratch-off ticket during my daily stop at the Way Station,” he shared with the Michigan Lottery. “When I saw the $1 million prize, I had to double-check using the lottery app to be sure. Once it was confirmed, I woke up my wife to share the incredible news!”

The lucky winner opted for a lump-sum payment of approximately $693,000, choosing to remain anonymous. He plans to use his winnings for home renovations, a vacation, and to secure a comfortable lifestyle.

“The future feels much brighter now,” he said. “I feel incredibly lucky to have won!”

The Wild Cherry instant game offers three top prizes of $1 million, and two of those prizes remain unclaimed, according to the Michigan Lottery.
