Local Woman’s Pizza Run Ends in $2 Million Surprise

In an unexpected turn, a Macomb County resident’s routine pizza pickup led to a windfall when she won $2 million from a scratch-off ticket. The prize stemmed from the Michigan Lottery’s $2,000 Large instant game.

The 41-year-old, opting for anonymity, purchased the lucky ticket at Party Palace Liquor on 49133 Schoenherr Road in Shelby Township. Initially indifferent to lottery games, the woman bought the ticket on a whim. “It was surreal realizing I had won $2 million,” she recalled. “I was thrilled and phoned my husband before leaving the parking lot.”

The fortunate winner recently collected her massive prize at the Lottery headquarters, choosing a one-time lump sum of approximately $1.3 million over structured annuity payments. She plans to clear some bills and enjoy a well-deserved vacation with her newfound wealth.
