Kentucky woman claims she saw her luck in the lottery as a sign when she won a $200,000 jackpot the day after she retired.
According to the Floyd County woman, she told Kentucky Lottery officials that she purchased her $10 Tree-Mendous Wins scratch-off ticket at the Double Kwik Prestonburg the day she retired from nursing after 36 years.
Soon, the player realized that she would soon be retiring with an additional $200,000.
She said,
“It was amazing. I had just retired that morning. This was a sign that it was time for me to stop working, so I took it as a sign.”
After taxes, the winner went to Louisville’s lottery headquarters and took home $142,000.
Double Kwik received a $2,000 bonus to sell the winning ticket.
